Fluid compositions and experimental PVT data are the basic input for simulations in PVTsim. The user of a PVT simulator should therefore have knowledge of how the data is measured, how to use and interpret experimental PVT data as well as to operate the PVT simulator. The course covers EoS modelling from the stage of sampling until the export of the final EoS model to a reservoir simulator or other third party software. In addition, this course will provide the audience with a comprehensive overview of PVT for systems where solids may form. The course will start with equilibrium modelling for two phase systems (gas/liquid) and then expand to multiphase systems where water and/or solids are present in addition to gas and oil. Finally, the course will cover simulation of transport of wax forming fluids in multiphase pipelines systems.
Course participants will have a chance to use the automated QC and automated EoS Apps. These are options that can significantly reduce the time required to generate a robust EoS model that complies with Calsep's recommended EoS modeling workflow.
The course is a mix of presentations, demonstrations of PVTsim simulation options, and practical exercises exemplifying the use of PVTsim Nova.

This course is designed for engineers engaged in reservoir simulations, flow assurance evaluation, production engineers, laboratory staff, and others interested in applying PVT simulation software for calculation of oil and gas phase behavior & pipeline modelling in situations where solids formation poses a problem in hydrocarbon production. With its mix of flow assurance and reservoir topics the course is appropriate for those who want to learn to use PVTsim as well as those mainly interested in PVT simulation methods.
